General information on data processing

The processing of personal data is restricted to the presentation and optimization of a functional website as well as our content and services.

Your personal data will be erased or blocked, as soon as the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies.

Presentation of the website and creation of log files

Description and scope of data processing

We don’t use access logs which reduces the amount of data we collect each time our website is accessed.

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the computer accessing it. Depending on the event, the following data is logged:

  • the user’s IP address
  • date and time of access including the URL accessed, HTTP method used and status code returned, along with the amount of data transmitted

Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 BDSG (new).

Purpose of data processing

Temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary for the website to be delivered to the user’s computer. For this purpose, the user’s IP address must remain stored for the duration of the session.

The IP is stored on the delivery servers for a maximum of two days, serving to secure operations and provide protection against attacks (e.g. DDOS).

Duration of storage

The log files are stored centrally and deleted after a maximum of two days.

Right to object and deletion

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. For this reason, it is not possible for users to object.

Information on your rights

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject under the provisions of the GDPR and have the following rights that you can demand from your controller:

Right to withdraw consent – Art. 7 (3) GDPR

You shall have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Right of access by the data subject – Art. 15 GDPR

You shall have the right to obtain information on your personal data that is being processed by us.

Right to rectification – Art. 16 GDPR

You shall have the right to obtain the rectification and/or completion of incorrect or incomplete personal data concerning you. The controller shall make the corrections without undue delay.

Right to erasure – Art. 17 GDPR

You shall have the right to request the deletion of your personal data that is being stored by us.

Right to restriction of processing – Art. 18 GDPR

You shall have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.

Notification obligation – Art. 19 GDPR

Should you have made use of the right to rectification or erasure of data or restriction of processing vis à vis the controller, the latter is obliged to communicate any rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing to each recipient to whom the personal data has been disclosed, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

You shall have the right to be informed by the controller about those recipients.

Right to data portability – Art. 20 GDPR

Should the requirements of Art. 20(1) GDPR bet met, you shall have the right to receive your personal data, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit that data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data has been provided.

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. For this reason, it is not possible for users to receive their data on this basis.

Right to object – Art. 21 GDPR

You shall have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your personal data which is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. In this case, the controller shall no longer process the personal data unless the controller demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – Art. 77 GDPR

If you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the provisions of GDPR, you shall have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority of your choice. This also includes the supervisory authority responsible for the controller: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
